Democracy in Action

 Democracy in Action
Our children are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of an exciting, real life democratic experience when choosing our Pupil Parliament.
A huge thank you to Councillor Rob Higgins and MP Chi Onwurah for sharing their community roles and responsibilities with the children and lending us real life voting stations and ballot boxes.
To begin the process,  Key Stage 2 children listen to some of our teachers pitching (their favourite biscuits, Campaign for Change initiatives); all hilarious and very competitive! The children take to the polling stations to vote for the best. The votes are dropped into the ballot boxes, counted and the winner revealed. This year, the winner is Mrs Bourne who pitched for 'Bug Hotels'. Well done!
A huge thank you to Rob Higgins and his colleagues for their continued support.
