Safety Works

This week, our Year 6 children embarked on an enriching and interactive trip to Safety Works, where they gained invaluable insights into road safety, dog safety, and fire safety. The children then shared several useful tips.

Concerning dog safety, they learnt to remember the 3C's: Check with the owner before approaching a dog, Call the dog over, and Count to three while stroking it to ensure the dog is comfortable. We discussed our school dog, Broadie, who is gentle due to his experience with children, however, not all dogs are as calm and gentle.

In terms of water safety, the children were advised that if they find themselves in deep water and unable to swim, they should lie on their back in a star shape, shout for help, and wave one hand. They were reminded never to jump into the water to attempt a rescue but to look for a life ring instead.

Safety works were extremely impressed with the positive behaviour and attiudes of all of our children. We are super proud of you all, Year 6.
